Dr Venetia Young (Chair)
Venetia is a GP and Family Therapist in Cumbria where she has had a lot of success in her practice, reducing the number of frequent attenders and taking a family systemic approach.
She is a co-author of the book ‘10 Minutes for the Family’, about family systems interventions in the 10 minute GP consultation.
Dr Henk Parmentier
Henk is a South London General Practitioner with a special interest in Mental Health and a lead GP with STaRNet, the South London Primary Care Research Network, facilitating and conducting Primary Care research.
He has been appointed as the Primary Care Lead of the South London and South East Hub of the MHRN (Mental Health Research Network), a network managed on behaves of the Department of Health, designed to provide the infrastructure to support large scale, high quality research in mental health and social care.
Henk is the UK representative of the WONCA (World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians) Working Party on Mental Health and is a visiting research fellow at the Primary Care section of the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London.
Henk is a co-author of the Companion to Primary Care Mental Health,a major collaboration of an international group of general practitioners, psychiatrists, policy-makers, mental health professionals and mental health advocates to provide the best available evidence for the management of patients with mental health conditions in primary care.
